As a graduate of First Colonial High School, Alex Bergren is a product of Virginia Beach schools, and is proud to serve as principal at Princess Anne Middle School. Prior to coming to PAMS, Mr. Bergren served VBCPS as an assistant principal at Tallwood High School and Salem Middle School, and as a school improvement specialist at Princess Anne High School. He was a member of Principals’ Academy VII and was recognized by his peers as Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year in 2008. This will be his 8th year in VBCPS.
Before coming to VBCPS, Bergren taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English, public speaking, and creative writing at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School, where he also coached boys and girls soccer and forensics. He also taught for two years at Saint Louis University.
Bergren is a proud Hokie, who completed a B.A. in literature at Virginia Tech in 1992. He earned an M.A. in literature from Saint Louis University in 1995, and received an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from the George Washington University in 2004. He is currently working to complete his dissertation in order to earn a doctorate from the George Washington University.
Outside of work, Bergren is a devoted husband and a proud father of three girls. He enjoys travel, music, golf, soccer, cycling, and, of course, Hokie football. |
